We all know that there are many things around us that could make us gain weight, from junk foods in food carts to a big Mac or a large pizza and we all know that food is what can make us gain weight (simple equation more food = more calories = more weight).

And we all read about studies that prove how chemicals and even our soils (agriculture) and the corporate involvement in agriculture could lead to more processed food and low nutritious organic foods (at least not like it used to be back in the 50s) and at the end could lead to obesity epidemic that is invading our country state by state.

However, a recent study by Mount Sinai Medical Center claims that chemicals like phthalates could eventually lead to weight gain this chemical exists in many cosmetic products and shampoos and soaps.

How Phthalates could cause us to gain weight
Well phthalates is one of the chemicals that are called endocrine disruptors which basically disturb your hormone system and more specifically could disturb the hormones that are responsible for our cravings for food and how we metabolize food to break it down into energy.

And disturbing hormones from these endocrine disruptors could be one of reasons for why we are gaining weight.

Avoiding excessive weight gain for obese people
I am not going to say that the best way to gain weight is to stop taking shower, No! But there are things you can do however:
• Eat healthy foods and stop counting calories, as healthy foods could never hurt your body because it will never raise your blood sugar levels nor it will give you diabetes.

• Simple cardio exercises is a must, you should at least walk for 30 minutes a day to improve your metabolism and help your body burns fats.

How to gain weight if you are skinny (not from shampoo)
OK here I am not going to tell you to take extra long showers. We all know that being underweight is a huge stress as it could bring psychological problems for adolescents like bullying in school and could lead to low self esteem, that's why learning how to gain weight fast is the first thing skinny boys and girls rush to do and this could expose them to the risk of eating too much junk food and that is not good for health.

So here are some tips for how to gain healthy weight fast:
• Try to minimize the use of saturated fats (bad fats) that can be found in cooking oil, and use olive oil instead which contains un-saturated fats (good fats).

• Eat healthy snacks that are rich in calories like nuts or peanut butter sandwiches.

• Workout more, when you go to the gym and do some weight lifting your body then burns fats and add muscles weight which is heavier than fats.
